Three serious water-related incidents across the North Island in a matter of hours

A child has died after being pulled unresponsive from the water at Lower Hutt's Avalon Park around eight last night.

A person has died after jumping off the side of a boat near Moutohora Island in Whakatane, around an hour later.

Meanwhile, a search is continuing for a man who jumped off a bridge into the Waikato River just before 8pm yesterday.
