Steve Irwin's widow "wishes every day" that he was still alive

The 'Crocodile Hunter' star was killed by a stingray in 2006 at the age of 44 and left his wife Terri Irwin - whom he married in 1992 - to raise their children Bindi, now 26, and Robert, now 21, and insisted that while her life is "very full and very rich", she would still love to have her husband back

She told UsWeekly: "I feel like I've had so much [love] and now in my life, I have so much love. I have my wonderful kids. I'm a grandmother now, and I have such a great team around me

"We are just everywhere working with like-minded, dedicated people. My life is very full and very rich and every day, I wish Steve was here, but I'm so lucky."

During the joint interview, Robert - who is set to compete on the upcoming edition of 'Dancing with the Stars' - described his mother as a "pillar of strength" as they all continue to run the Wildlife Warriors conservation foundation that she and Steve set up in 2002.

He said: "We love you. I think that's the thing, it's a family that we've got around the world and so special.

"I think I echo everyone, and we've got 500 strong in our team, it's all thanks to mom keeping that legacy going.

"I couldn't imagine how hard that would've been and is every day, but you're just our pillar of strength through it all. We really, really have it all to thank you for that. So, thank you."

Terri, 60, has never remarried since the tragic death of Steve, and she recently noted that she only ever got her "happily ever after" with him.

She said: "I totally got my happily ever after. And while there are a lot of wonderful men in the world, can you see another Steve Irwin? I just can't. I'd be like, 'I love that you're a librarian and the dude decimal system is cool, but I got to go jump a crocodile and do that.' Forget that!"
