    Maroons selectors will meet this afternoon where Cherry-Evans is almost certain to be left out of the squad for game two on Wednesday week, barring any late changes.

    Cherry-Evans has been the Maroons' first-choice halfback and captain since 2019, but has come under fire since the 18-6 loss in the series opener.

    Queensland dropped Trevor Gillmeister when he was captain in the 1990s.
