Calls for more visa loosening from the wine industry

Calls for more visa loosening from the wine industry

About 11-thousand people with working holiday visas soon to expire will receive a supplementary seasonal visa.

It's good news for Wine Marlborough, which employs 30 percent of its staff locally, and 70 percent from overseas.

General manager Marcus Pickens says they're looking to hire more Kiwis, but local trained experts are few and far between.

He says the 70 percent from overseas have special skills, work in wineries around the world, bring knowledge and experience, and do the job safely.
