Black Caps great Tim Southee has picked out his career highlights after announcing his retirement from the test format at the conclusion of the upcoming home series with England

The 35-year-old's test career started in 2008 - he's since taken 385 wickets across 104 matches.

Southee says the recent 3-nil series sweep of India is right up there.

Southee will play for Northern Districts in the Plunket Shield next week in preparation for test one in Christchurch.

He will remain available if New Zealand qualify for the World Test Championship final.
