Auckland firefighters have extinguished a housefire in New Windsor -- and are dampening hotspots

Auckland firefighters have extinguished a housefire in New Windsor -- and are dampening hotspots

Fire and Emergency say five vehicles took under an hour to control the blaze at the two-storey house, which broke out just after midday.

They say crews initially suspected a person was inside, but everyone had been accounted for.

Newstalk ZB's Michael Sergel is there.

    He says emergency services remain.

He says they'd cordoned off a large section of road near the house for a long time, which has been reduced.
