Parliamentarians seem to be onboard with a call for action on Northland's meth crisis

Parliamentarians seem to be onboard with a call for action on Northland's meth crisis

Ngapuhi leader Mane Tahere's asking Police to crack down on dealers - with more raids like ones carried out in Opotiki last year.

He's recently seen youngsters smoking meth in daylight on Kaikohe's main street.

Northland MP, Grant McCallum, says breaking the cycle will take time.

He says part of it will require giving people using drugs - something better to do - even low-challenge jobs would be an improvement.
