    A surge in new car sales - on the back of a tough couple of years for the market


    Close to 12 thousand vehicle were registered in June - about 26 percent more than a year ago.

    The Toyota RAV4 continued to hold its position as the crowd favourite passenger car - followed by the Mitsubishi ASX, and the Kia Seltos.

    Motor Industry Association's Alan Seay , says the Investment Boost announced in May likely played a role.

    He says there's been a couple of surveys suggesting people are now more likely to invest in new assets, and that often includes vehicles
