    A man is assisting Police with their enquiries after another man was allegedly shot in Lower Hutt's Stokes Valley


    Emergency services were called to reports of a gun being fired on Hanson Grove about 9am yesterday.

    The 39-year-old victim remains in a critical condition in Wellington Hospital.

    Police want to hear from anybody in or around the Sladden Street area in Naenae, as well as Poole Street in Taita, who has CCTV or dashcam footage.

    Residents in the vicinity of Hanson Grove and the main arterial routes of Stokes Valley are also urged to contact Police with any footage they have.
