Peter Andre is "a bit scared" to have a vasectomy

The 51-year-old pop star father of five welcomed his youngest child - a daughter named Arabella with his wife Emily - last year and he's previously discussed undergoing an operation to bring his baby-making days to an end - but he's now confessed his plans are on hold because he's nervous about going under the knife

In his latest column for OK! magazine, Peter explained: "Having children is a big decision. We frequently expect the woman to have to find a way and take measures not to become pregnant, but actually I realise that us men have a responsibility too.

"The problem is, like many, I'm a bit scared of having that kind of procedure. I know, call me a wimp. Who knows? Never say never, I guess."

Peter is dad to Junior, 19, and Princess, 17, from his previous marriage to Katie Price as well as Amelia, 10, Theo, eight, and Arabella, nine months, with wife Emily - and he previously admitted he was unsure about having more children before baby Arabella came along.

He told OK!: "Ironically lockdown has brought us both closer together and so we'll have more of a chance. But if Emily is really not up for it, maybe I'll have the snip - only if it's reversible!

"I think every guy is scared of having the snip because it means a closed chapter. But why should the woman always be the one to take precautions?"

In a recent appearance on the the Netmums podcast, Peter admitted he had been holding onto some misconceptions about the operation.

He said: "I literally thought that if you get it done, you start talking like this [high-pitched]. I literally did, so I started freaking out and I said, 'I can't do that' and she [Emily] said, 'What's wrong with you?'.

"And I said, 'Well, what if I start speaking really high-pitched?' As if I don't speak high-pitched already."

However, Peter revealed he was put off again after hearing stories from other men about their own experiences with the operation.

He said: "I'm not going to lie, I've completely bottled it, it's freaked me out. If it means she doesn't need to do anything to prevent it, I will do it, but it's going to take some guts to do it."
