Ed Westwick and Amy Jackson have welcomed their first child together into the world

The 37-year-old actor and the 33-year-old model took to social media to share several pictures of their newborn boy, who they have named Oscar Alexander Westwick

In a joint statement on Instagram, the couple wrote: "Welcome to the world, baby boy.

    Oscar Alexander Westwick [heart emoji]"

Amy shared the post on her Instagram Stories, and wrote: "The best feeling in the world [heart emoji]"

And Ed wrote on his Stories: "Words can't express the wonder".

The happy couple were inundated with congratulatory messages from several stars, including model Amber Le Bon.

She wrote: "Aaahhhh congratulations my Angel!! Sending the biggest love (sic)"

Model Sara Sampaio wrote: "Awww. Congratulations"

TV presenter and model Abbey Clancy posted: "Congratulations beautiful girl"

Actress Michelle Keegan - who welcomed her first child, Palma, into the world earlier this month - wrote: "Congratulations my darling"

Reality star and documentary maker Zara McDermott commented: "Congratulations beautiful couple"

Last summer, 'Gossip Girl' star Ed and Amy - who also has five-year-old son Andreas with former partner George Panayiotou - got married in a lavish ceremony on Italy's Amalfi Coast.

And after tying the knot, Amy admitted she was excited to "build a future" with her new husband.

She gushed to People magazine: "For me, [marrying Ed] means having a life partner to adventure with, to share love and support, to create a beautiful family and to have each other's backs throughout all of life's moments.

"It's about building a future together and creating endless memories, knowing that we are a team through it all."

Ed added: "This all represents a new level of energy for a new adventure - the best one you can possibly have.

"I spent my life wondering who she would be, and then I found her."
