Good representation for New Zealand at the upcoming World Athletics Championships

A 14-strong squad's been confirmed for the event starting in Tokyo in 12 days time.

Olympic high jump champion Hamish Kerr, shot putters Maddi Wesche and Tom Walsh and the pole vault trio of Eliza McCartney, Imogen Ayris and Olivia McTaggart all loom as contenders.

Sprinter Zoe Hobbs is joined by steeplechaser Geordie Beamish and 1500-metre runner Sam Tanner on the track.

The other field event athletes are throwers Connor Bell, Tori Moorby and Lauren Bruce, shot putter Nick Palmer and triple jumper Ethan Olivier .
