Black Foils driver Peter Burling is giving his side of their weekend-ending crash at the Sail GP season-opening event in Perth

Black Foils driver Peter Burling is giving his side of their weekend-ending crash at the Sail GP season-opening event in Perth

The tail of the Kiwi boat collided with Switzerland in the first race - which ultimately ended the day on the water for both teams.

Burling says it was frustrating after they'd gotten off to a good start.

Umpires have put the blame on the Black Foils - who've tentatively been hit with an eight-point penalty for the event.

    Burling has challenged the decision.

The Swiss have confirmed they're good to go for today - the Kiwis, not so lucky.
