The Tauranga athlete's become the world's fastest ever 16-year-old over the mile - clocking 3.53.83 seconds at the Cooks Classic in Whanganui.
He's finished second behind two-time Olympian and training partner Sam Tanner - the pair heading to the US for indoor mile-races next month
Ruthe is sure he has more to offer.
