National says its new plan for rental accommodation will help renters and investors alike

National says its new plan for rental accommodation will help renters and investors alike

It's unveiled the Boost Build-to-Rent Housing Bill.

Housing spokeswoman, Nicola Willis, says it will give tenants long-term security, professional landlord services, and the chance to live in a new home.

She says developments would be exempt from some overseas investment restrictions, and properties would be on a commercial tax rate.

Willis says her bill removes barriers to encourage investment, helping address the housing shortage.
