A warning the grass may not be greener for tradies on the other side of the Tasman

A warning the grass may not be greener for tradies on the other side of the Tasman

Kiwi tradies are being offered a 10 thousand dollar incentive to jump the ditch to work in building and construction in West Australia.

Civil Contractors NZ head, Alan Pollard, says it's vital New Zealand keeps tradies for projects starting this year.

He says Workforce Development Council research shows Australia might offer less than you might think.

Pollard says income disparity is shrinking, taxes are higher over there and house prices are soaring.
