Kate Hudson is convinced her son Ryder is destined for stardom

The Hollywood actress, 45, is mom to the 21-year-old performing arts student with her rocker ex-husband Chris Robinson and Kate is adamant Ryder has a stellar career in front of him just as her own famous mother - actress Goldie Hawn - knew her daughter would go on to great things

During an appearance on BBC Radio 2, the 'Almost Famous' star explained: "He's got it. He's got it! ... My son is literally in performing arts school right now. He's 21. Ah! Well, he'll be fine ...

"He's so funny and he's so smart, he's very self-possessed and, and he's an amazing person. And I just know that, you know.

"I think our family does a really good job of, like, you know, kids have a hard time thinking that they have to do something so significant, which means to them be seen.

"But like, significance is, like, if you're happy putting what you're putting out in the world, you know? And I just, I hope that I think he's got that, I think he's going to be all right."

Kate - who is also mother to son Bingham, 12, with Muse frontman Matt Bellamy, and daughter Rani, five, with fiance Danny Fujikawa - was 23 when she welcomed Ryder and she added of her eldest son: "That's my kid, that's my little baby.

"I was so young [when I had him] too, so it's fun to have, you know, an adult child that I can hang with."

Kate previously revealed she's proud to have created such a "strong" blended family. In an interview with The Skimm last year, she explained: "The unit that I've created with three children and three different fathers is a seriously strong unit - and it's ours ...

"We've managed to keep focused on the love we have for our child," Hudson continued. "And by now we've gotten quite good at co-parenting.

"Love and what's best for the child must always come first and somehow we've managed to keep that at the forefront, even when there are disagreements. And then, of course, Mom is always right."
