Coastguard says its pleased more boaties are taking safety measures before hitting the water

Between December and February - volunteers responded to more than 12-hundred incidents -- bringing three-thousand plus people to safety.

Boaties logged more than 113-thousand trip reports, to share their plans heading out.

Spokesperson, Lesley Slieker says it's a crucial measure.

She says it tells Coastguard where boaties are going, when they're due back - and raises the alarm if they don't arrive home.
