New Zealanders are being urged to keep on top of their sleep as the clocks turn back

New Zealanders are being urged to keep on top of their sleep as the clocks turn back

Daylight savings has officially ended overnight - giving people an extra hour of rest.

Southern Cross Health Society chief medical officer Dr Stephen Child says this change can negatively impact people's sleeping patterns which can lead to other issues.

He says the obvious impact is fatigue but it can also affect the immune system and those with diabetes and blood pressure issues.
