Health New Zealand's backing its latest senior doctors pay offer, in spite of union criticism

It includes salary increases between 3.5 and 11-percent depending on experience, and provides retention funding incentives.

However, the Association of Salaried Medical Specialists says 90 percent of members are being offered just over 1-percent more a year.

But Health NZ Industrial Relations Executive Lead Robyn Shearer says that may be the union's perspective, but they believe they've provided a fair and reasonable offer.
