New emergency service location technology is already seeing success, just a week after its roll-out

New emergency service location technology is already seeing success, just a week after its roll-out

The Device Location Information service can be used to find the phone of a person who has not called 111 themselves, but is causing safety concerns.

Police say the world-first tool is already proving itself, after a missing person with intellectual disabilities was returned home in under an hour in the town of Matamata..

Another family had raised concerns about a missing person, who was found uninjured after being in a car crash in Piha.
