Aussie star Broc Feeney's fired the first shot in the new Supercars Grand Final weekend, posting his 17th pole position of the year

He now holds the record for most poles in a Supercars season.

Feeney's pipped championship rival and compatriot Chaz Mostert, whose pit crew had to work fast to get his Ford Mustang back on the street circuit after it suffered significant steering damage in a crash in final practice.

The best of the New Zealand drivers was Ryan Wood in fifth place.

Race 32 starts at 6.50pm.
