A homicide investigation was launched after Wayne Tamahori Dewes died in hospital with severe injuries in late October.
During the investigation, police appealed for the sighting of a person riding a bike in the early hours of the morning on the day of Dewes' death.
A 27-year-old woman appeared in the District Court today, and was remanded in custody.
She'll appear at the High Court in Gisborne late next month.
