Big changes to visa requirements for Pacific Islanders

From July, people from Pacific nations may be eligible for a longer multi-entry visa -- allowing them to visit New Zealand as much as they want for two years -- extended from one year.

Foreign Affairs Minister Winston Peters is in Tonga, and says New Zealand has deep connections with the pacific.

He says the Government's put Pasifika in the forefront of foreign policy, and is committed to investing in our friends.

The Greens are calling for Pacific nations to be grated visa waiver status.
