New Zealand's top cop says he can't comment on the resignation of his Deputy Commissioner - without compromising the criminal investigation

Jevon McSkimming resigned yesterday after being suspended on full-pay since December.

It's understood porn was allegedly found on his work computer.

He's also under investigation on unrelated allegations that can't be reported.

Police Commissioner Richard Chambers says he takes seriously anything that puts trust and confidence in police at risk.

He says he has high expectations of all police staff - and will take action if those standards aren't met.
