The teenager - who has permanent name suppression -- escaped a murder conviction over the death of 16-year-old Enere Taana-McLaren, who died of a single stab wound on Great King Street in May 2024.
The jury returned its unanimous verdict on the lesser charge, after more than two days of deliberations in March.
There's been some concerns of ongoing tensions at the bus hub, including a woman discharged a BB gun and complaints of security guards failing to patrol the area.
