Benny Blanco says he and Selena Gomez have been too busy with work to start planning their wedding

The couple got engaged in December after over a year of dating, and they've had so many projects on the go, they haven't found the time to sit down and discuss their nuptials yet

Speaking on Jake Shane's Therapuss podcast, Benny said: "Honestly, I really want to take a little break.

"I've been working so much. I've realised I haven't really had much time off in a while and I'm about to just, I just want to lay in bed and forget what day it is because we've been in bed just watching stuff."

Asked if he likes to switch off that way, he replied: "Not usually but with Selena, I can do it all day. She makes me want to hang out and cuddle, just watch things, just eat food, and have piles of food around us and have the best time ever."

Quizzed on whether wedding planning has begun, he responded: "Not yet, that's why we both need to chill.

"We've both been working so much. We got engaged and then we were filming music videos for our album then we then it's holidays, then right after the holidays we had to start all the promo for our stuff, do that."

He went on: "Then she left to film her show Only Murders [in the Building] and then I met her then we hung out for a week and then right after that it's promo and then I'm writing another book so then I had to write a book and then she came back for one day here and then it was my birthday and you know."

The 37-year-old record producer says he and the 32-year-old actress-and-singer might start planning their big day sometime this summer after a break.

He said: "We're both working on so many things that we hadn't even had time to get into it but we're so excited.

"I think this summer we're going to sit down and be like, 'Okay, what are we doing.'"

Benny is hoping for a "chill" wedding day, telling the online personality: "I think so. I think it will be like chill. It'll be chill."

Ed Sheeran is at the top of the guest list.

Benny - who previously worked with the Grammy winner on the likes of Shape of You, Castle on the Hill, and Justin Bieber's Love Yourself - told Australian TV show Today: "I just told him, 'I'm going to have a wedding and you're going to come to the wedding.

"Eventually Ed will come to our wedding when we do have one, but unfortunately we have not scheduled one yet - but we will!"

After Benny and Selena got engaged, they created songs that eventually ended up on their first joint album, I Said I Love You First, which was released in March.
