MetService has issued watches for rain and wind

Overnight and into tomorrow afternoon, heavy rain is forecast for Otago south of Alexandra and Oamaru, and mainland Southland

From now until 5 in the morning, winds may reach severe gale force in Coastal Otago, in Southland from Dunedin to Bluff, and around Stewart Island

MetService has also lifted all watches that were in place for Auckland, Coromandel Peninsula, Waikato north of Hamilton, and Bay of Plenty around and north of Tauranga, Gisborne/Tairawhiti north of Tolaga Bay, and Wairarapa southeast of Martinborough.
