An inflation warning from the Finance Minister - as Labour mulls its Reserve Bank policy

An inflation warning from the Finance Minister - as Labour mulls its Reserve Bank policy

The previous Labour Government changed the bank's remit, ordering it to focus on keeping inflation low - and ensuring maximum employment.

The current Government scrapped the changes.

Labour Finance spokesperson Barbara Edmonds says the Party's seriously considering bringing it back.

Nicola Willis says that would hit consumers in the pocket.

Willis says while the bank had the dual mandate, the country had the highest inflation in recent times.
