A landslide in Auckland Muriwai's being assessed, after residents were evacuated

A landslide in Auckland Muriwai's being assessed, after residents were evacuated

Three Fire and Emergency appliances, Urban Search and Rescue personnel, and a geo technical engineer from Auckland Council, are on the scene at Motutara Road.

Senior Station officer Phil Grace says they've evacuated residents housed immediately below the landslide zone, and have cordoned off the road. It is due to re-open around now

He says the landslip isn't large, but it is significant as it impacts infrastructure including the road and houses immediately below it.
