Kai Trump, granddaughter of US President Donald Trump, invited to play in LPGA Tour event

Kai Trump receives an invitation to play in a tournament in Florida ahead of starting her collegiate golf career.

US President Donald Trump's granddaughter will make her LPGA Tour debut next month at The Annika tournament.

Kai Trump received a sponsor's exemption on Tuesday to play in the event at Pelican Golf Club in Florida from November 13-16.

"My dream has been to compete with the best in the world on the LPGA Tour," she said in a release.

"This event will be an incredible experience.

"I look forward [to] meeting and competing against so many of my heroes and mentors in golf as I make my LPGA Tour debut."

Trump, 18, is the eldest daughter of Donald Trump Jr.

She is a senior at the Benjamin School in Palm Beach County and has committed to play at the University of Miami in 2026.

Trump also recently started an apparel and lifestyle brand aimed at empowering young women in sports.

She also accompanied her grandfather to Bethpage Black golf course in New York last month for the opening day of the Ryder Cup tournament, where Europe defeated the US.

"Sponsor invitations are an important way to spotlight emerging talent and bring new attention to our tournaments and the LPGA," said Ricki Lasky, the LPGA's chief tour business and operations officer.

"Kai's broad following and reach are helping introduce golf to new audiences, especially among younger fans.

"We're excited to see her take this next step in her journey."
