Two people are injured, and a holiday home's damaged, after a light aircraft crashed into a property on the Coromandel Peninsula

Emergency services were called to the scene in Pauanui just after 9am - St John says one person is in moderate condition, while the other has minor injuries.

The home's owners weren't there at the time, but had planned to visit soon.

Holidaymaker Amy Wiggins, believes the plane ended up inside the front corner of the house.

She heard a loud bang from her property - and has come down to see the plane's been pulled out of the house.
