Changes to enable more overseas investment in build-to-rent housing are now law

Changes to enable more overseas investment in build-to-rent housing are now law

Legislation's passed through Parliament - aimed providing a streamlined consent pathway for foreign investors looking to invest in existing build-to-rent developments.

Property Council chief executive Leonie Freeman says it'll both bring more money here and mean more houses are built.

    She says it's a win-win.

Freeman says they did research a couple of years ago and found that if they could get these key things passed, they'd be able to add another 25-thousand build-to-rent homes over the next decade.
