More than 2600 grocery items jumped up in price last month

More than 2600 grocery items jumped up in price last month

Infometrics-Foodstuffs New Zealand Grocery Supplier Cost Index shows a two percent rise in supplier costs to supermarkets in April, compared to the year prior.

Butter, beef, coffee and chocolate saw some of the highest increases.

Infometrics Chief Executive Brad Olsen says there's still a lot of demand for these important products.

But he says in a degree of good news, the cost of cooking oils saw some signs of moderating in April.
