Calls for regulation for at-home medical tests

Calls for regulation for at-home medical tests

An article in the New Zealand Medical Journal points out examples of accuracy concerns, including a pregnancy test with high rates of false positives and a test for STIs, with unacceptable performance overseas.

College of GPs Medical Director Luke Bradford says now is a good time to get on top of the issue.

He says self-tests are becoming popular and are only set to increase in use.
