Drivers are being urged to make sensible choices this summer

Last year, 292 people lost their lives on the road.
Superintendent Steve Greally says impaired driving causes great risk, with drugs alcohol and fatigue being a big issue.
Transport Minister Chris Bishop agrees - saying alcohol and drugs are involved in about 30 percent of road deaths, and road safety's a responsibility we all share.
The holiday road toll count will begin at four this afternoon - and will run through to 6 am January 5th.
