Labour councillor Efeso Collins has confirmed he's standing for the Auckland mayoralty

Labour councillor Efeso Collins has confirmed he's standing for the Auckland mayoralty

Talk is swirling that Phil Goff will not seek a third term in the role this year.

The Manukau ward councillor says he wants to make Tamaki Makaurau last the distance for his daughters, and the city's younger generations.

Collins says one of his key policies is fares free travel on public transport.

He says we can do a lot better to address climate emissions by getting people out of gas guzzlers, and getting them on the bus and the ferry.
