    New Zealand has more than five thousand-800 new community Covid cases today and five more Covid-related deaths


    Most cases are in Auckland, with 525 in the Capital and Coast DHB, and 910 in Canterbury.

    403 people are in hospital with the virus, including 10 in intensive care.

    Of those who have died, one person was in their 70s, three in their 80s and one more than 90.

    In terms of vaccinations, 70 percent of the eligible population has had a third dose.

    For Maori, that number is 53 percent and for Pasifika, 56 percent.
