    A rahui on parts of Mount Ruapehu remains in place today after a woman died while trying to climb it


    A woman fell a significant distance after slipping on the eastern side of the mountain and later died.

    The rahui is in place for the eastern slopes of Mount Ruapehu above two thousand metres until 6am Tuesday.

    Police continue to investigate.
