Two men have been charged with murder - over the arson death of an elderly Lower Hutt man last year

In November, 82-year-old Ian Moller was critically injured and later died when his block of flats was set on fire, in Stokes Valley Hanson's Grove.

Police say they've arrested three men in their 20s and 30s this morning - after carrying out multiple searches in Hutt Valley.

The trio will appear in Hutt Valley District Court this afternoon - on charges of arson, participating in a criminal group and murder.
