Kiwi golfer Ryan Fox is six shots off the clubhouse pace after his opening round of the US Open major on the Oakmont course in Pennsylvania

    Fox fired a two-over-par 72 and sits in a share of 34th.

American J.J. Spaun leads by one stroke on four-under.

Australia cricket captain Pat Cummins is tipping a day-three finish in the World Test Championship final against South Africa at Lord's.

The Aussies are 144 for eight in their second innings, a lead of 218 runs.

And Tottenham Hotspur have hired Thomas Frank as their new manager, after the Danish football coach ended his nearly decade-long stay at Brentford.

Frank will replace Aussie Ange Postecoglou ... who was fired last week, despite leading Spurs to their first trophy in 17 years.
