A business spokesperson says artificial intelligence will inevitably destroy jobs

Science Minister Shane Reti's unveiled the country's first AI-strategy, in hopes of boosting economic growth.

He says the strategy will reduce barriers to adoption and give clear regulatory guidance for its use.

BusinessNZ Advocacy Director Catherine Beard says, like previous advances in technology, there are trade-offs.

She says it has the potential of creating jobs through new start-ups and boosted productivity.
