The weak labour market is continuing to impact salaries

The weak labour market is continuing to impact salaries

Advertised salaries on job website Seek have increased just two-percent in the past year, compared to a 5.1 percent rise in the same period two years ago.

Canterbury's the only part of the country where advertised salaries are keeping up with inflation.

Seek New Zealand Manager Rob Clark says salaries in some sectors are rising faster, while others have slowed to a crawl.

He says mining and real estate are seeking bigger rises, while IT has been seeing lower growth.
