Harris Dickinson isn't very comfortable with "being desired"

The 28-year-old actor stars alongside Nicole Kidman in the erotic thriller film 'Babygirl', and Harris admitted that it was an unfamiliar role for him.

Asked if he's comfortable with "rampant objectification", Harris told The Independent: "Not very ... That was a very quick answer. I mean, I'll take it with the right filmmaker.

"I'm not really afraid of showing my body and stuff. I was raised to, you know, love yourself, love your body, be proud of it."

Despite this, Harris felt self-conscious about his appearance during his younger years.

The actor shared: "I was a really chubby boy, right? And I didn't shed that until I was in my late teens. So I've always got that in my mind, and I don't think that ever leaves you."

Harris doesn't feel particularly comfortable being desired - but he was "happy to lean into it" for 'Babygirl'.

He explained: "It feels kind of strange to me, because it's not something I've been particularly used to ... being desired. I'm happy to lean into it for the right film, but it's not something I'm comfortable with."

Meanwhile, Nicole hopes 'Babygirl' proves to be a "liberating story" for women.

The Oscar-winning actress found making the erotic thriller film to be a "very freeing" experience.

Nicole, 57 - who is married to music star Keith Urban - said at the Venice Film Festival: "This is one woman's story and this is, I hope, a very liberating story.

"It's told by a woman, through her gaze - Halina [Reijn] wrote it and she directed it - and that's to me what made it so unique because suddenly I was going to be in the hands of a woman with this material. It was very dear to our shared instincts and very freeing."
