A man has been arrested after allegedly discharging a weapon in Christchurch

A man has been arrested after allegedly discharging a weapon in Christchurch

Police were called to Emmett Street at about 4.40pm after reports a man had discharged a shotgun and fled the scene in a car - no one was injured.

The driver fled when he saw Police and a pursuit was abandoned due to the concerning manner of driving.

Officers tracked the man to a Sumner Street property in Spreydon where he was arrested at around 5pm.

    Charges are being considered.
