Mixed results in new Stats NZ economic data

Retail card spending has been trending up, but fell 0.8 percent from February to March - down in most categories.

Overseas tourist numbers are also lifting - but were down year-on-year in February, because of the Lunar New Year's earlier start.

Net migration also appears to be turning around.

Migrant departures in the year to February were lower than to January -- for the first time since the transtasman bubble partially reopened in July 2021.
