    Bad Bunny was the big winner at the Latin Grammys

    The 31-year-old musician - real name Benito Antonio Martinez Ocasio - was among the stars who attended the glitzy ceremony in Las Vegas on Thursday night (13.11.25) and he took home five prizes including the album of the year honour for his record Debí Tirar Más Fotos.


    In his acceptance speech for the top honour, Bad Bunny thanked his family and gave a special mention to his homeland of Puerto Rico, saying: "Once again, I want to thank God. And my mom for birthing me.

    "Mom and Dad, I love y'all. I love my brothers ... I love music, I love what I do, I love being with passionate people and doing what I love ...

    "I dedicate this [award] to the young people and children of Latin America, especially those from Puerto Rico.

    "Never stop dreaming or being yourself. It doesn't matter where you're from, never forget where you come from nor where you're going.

    "There's so many ways to defend where you're from. We chose music. Los Sobrinos chose, Pleneros de la Cresta chose music ... Puerto Rico, I love you, thank you."

    Bad Bunny was among the frontrunners at this year's awards show after landing 12 nominations. As well as winning the album of the year award, he also took prizes for best urban/urban fusion performance and best urban song for DtMF, best reggaeton performance for Voy A Llevarte Pa PR and best urban music album for Debí Tirar Más Fotos.

    The musician will go on to compete at the Grammy Awards on February 2 after landing six nominations for awards including record, song and album of the year.

    Other big winners at the Latin Grammys included Alejandro Sanz, who won two awards - record of the year for Palmeras En El Jardín and best contemporary pop album for Y Ahora Qué?

    Gloria Estefan landed the award for best traditional tropical album for Raíces and Karol G's track Si Antes Te Hubiera Conocido was named song of the year.

    Hip-hop duo Ca7riel and Paco Amoroso won best pop song for El Día Del Amigo' as well as best alternative music album for Papota.

    Papota also landed the best long form music video. Their track #Tetas was named best alternative song and claimed the best short form music video prize.

    Best Traditional Pop Album: Bogotá - Andrés Cepeda

    Best Pop Song - El Día Del Amigo - Ca7riel and Paco Amoroso

    Best Latin Electronic Music Performance: Veneka - Rawayana featuring Akapellah

    Best Urban/Urban Fusion Performance: Dtmf - Bad Bunny

    Best Reggaeton Performance: Voy A Llevarte Pa Pr - Bad Bunny

    Best Urban Music Album: Debí Tirar Más Fotos - Bad Bunny

    Best Rap/Hip Hop Song: Fresh - Trueno

    Best Urban Song: DtMF - Bad Bunny

    Best Rock Album: Novela - Fito Paez

    Best Rock Song - La Torre: Renee and Sale El Sol - Fito Paez

    Best Pop/Rock Album: Ya Es Mañana - Morat

    Songwriter of the Year: Edgar Barrera.
