Nicole Kidman is reportedly considering moving back to Australia following the death of her mother

The Hollywood actress - who was born in Hawaii but grew up Down Under - has spent the last few years living in Nashville, Tennessee with her country singer husband Keith Urban and their two daughters Sunday, 16, and Faith, 14, but a new report suggests she's considering a return to Australia following a rough few months which included losing her mom Janelle in September

An insider told Woman's Day magazine: "Nicole and Keith have had their worst year ever, they've barely spent any time together and she's been on her own throughout some of her most distressing times ...

"Nicole is still looking as amazing as always but she's been through so much, and she seems to be dealing with her grief by throwing herself into work.

"There are times when she sleeps on a plane more than a bed. Everyone's worried about her."

Nicole was in Italy attending the Venice Film Festival to promote her new movie 'Babygirl' when her mother died and she skipped the premiere and prizegiving to be with her family.

She announced her mother's death via a written acceptance speech after being awarded a Best Actress award at the festival with 'Babygirl' director Halina Reijn reading it out on her behalf.

In the speech, Nicole explained: "Today I arrived in Venice to find out shortly after, that my beautiful, brave mother Janelle Ann Kidman has just passed.

"I am in shock and I have to go to my family, but this award is for her, she shaped me, she guided me, and she made me.

"I am beyond grateful that I get to say her name to all of you through Halina, the collision of life and art is heart-breaking, and my heart is broken. We love you all."

Nicole has since returned to work promoting the film and recently told The Hollywood Reporter she is "hanging in there" after the tragedy.

She said: "It's a hard road, I'm hanging in there. I wish my mama was here. That'd be the one thing I'd say. Everything is great with work but I wish my mama was here."
