Blair Underwood is raising a bison herd like cattle

The 61-year-old actor just bought a bison, and he has teamed up with some of his "neighbours and partners" to raise six of the large bovines to produce meat for bison burgers.

Blair told a TMZ reporter: "I've always had a love for buffalo, or bison to your point, and had a chance to start a herd with some neighbours and partners, so we did it.

"We've got our first six bison, I call them my new six-pack."

The Deep Impact star loves how massive and strong a bison is - characteristics he joked his wife, Josie Hart, wants him to have.

Blair said: "It's massive, that's one of the reasons I love them. They're magnificent, they're huge, they're big, they're strong, everything my wife tells me I'm trying to be!"

And the Sex and the City actor loves juicy bison burgers because of how nutritious and leaner the meat is compared to ground beef burgers.

Asked by the reporter if he is "down" for a rich, sweet and early-flavoured bison burger, Blair said: "Oh hell yeah. That's why we're raising them just like cattle for the meat.

"It's good stuff. [Bison] is better for you, it's lean, cow's all fat, buffalo is nothing but muscle."

Blair married his long-time friend Josie at the Casa de Campo Resort and Villas in the Dominican Republic in June 2023.

Reflecting on their wedding day, Blair told People at the time: "The first time I saw her in the dress, she looked like a princess.

"She was so beautiful. The deep emotions that were displayed during the ceremony, the lightness and fun of the reception, it all felt humbling because it all just fell into place. It was amazing."

Blair met Josie when he was still a teenager, and they've been good friends for decades.

He said: "My mother loved and adored her. We lived separate lives on separate coasts. We never saw each other a lot. But when we talked, there's always such a strong connection of just understanding each other."

And the actor felt like tying the knot was a natural progression for the couple.

He shared: "It just feels so right. I just feel like it is the next step in moving forward in my life, and doing it together in our lives together."
