However his 1500m split has banked him a Commonwealth Games B standard to go with his mile A standard.
Ruthe crossed the mile finish line in a time of three minutes 52.46, around three and a half seconds slower than his New Zealand record.

Fellow New Zealander Sam Tanner did not finish, while Olympic 1500m champion Cole Hocker won by five seconds in a US record time.
